The school is set in the heart of an important Riverland orchard, vineyard and farming area. It is essentially a country school in character, in that most of the children come from families who are associated with primary production.

We have approximately 70 students currently enrolled from preschool to year seven, in three classes and a site based preschool. Our focus is on literacy and numeracy, with these curriculum areas being taught in the mornings. There are many benefits for children in a smaller country setting. The school has a caring attitude towards all, is able to cater for a wide range of individual student needs, and provides many opportunities for students in academic, social and sporting endeavours.

The school has excellent facilities, play equipment, sporting oval's, large covered outdoor learning area and our own swimming pool. We have our own site based preschool that runs an active and thriving playgroup on Thursday mornings during school terms, the preschool is also home to our occasional care program which runs every Tuesday and Thursday morning. In 2017 our school classes are split in three, Reception/Year 1/Year 2, Year 3/Year 4/Year 5 and Year 5/Year 6/Year7

At Loxton North School we believe a smooth transition from Preschool to school creates happier students and active learning. Loxton North School is a feeder school to Loxton High School. Year seven students undergo an extensive transition program with High School staff and students.

Loxton North School is a member of the Loxton Renmark Partnership.
